Interannual variability and trends of global land surface CO2, energy and radiation fluxes over the last four decades @ Seoul National University

We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a recently funded 5 year project. It will combine a range of remote sensing data sets across low earth orbit, sun-synchronous, geostationary, Lagrangian L-1 point satellites, a set of ground network data sets such as FLUXNET and BSRN, machine learning, and land surface model. We want to understand the coupled, C-H2O-radiation system across scales.

Contact to Youngryel Ryu (ryuyr77@gmail.com) if you are passionate for this topic, have great ideas to understand this complex challenging task, are learning animal, and are willing to join our venture towards the vision, “a sustainable world where ecological information is available and accessible to anyone.”  I will request cover letter, CV, and the names and contact information of three references.

We already have one postdoc for this project, so two postdocs will work closely together with our highly collaborative group members, and international collaborators.

Seoul National University is located in the Gwanak Mountain, southern part of the Seoul City in South Korea. Numerous mountain trails are accessible in the campus whereas “Gangnam”, the center of amusement in Seoul, is within 30 min. There are diverse groups of international students/scholars. There is a dormitory for international scholars which offers low cost, nice housing for family or single.

If you have any question, feel free to send emails to Dr Ryu. Welcome to visit our lab webpage to see our research and activity (http://environment.snu.ac.kr/).
