Youngryel visited the Bay area. He joined SNU EI and Stanford Doerr School workshop where he gave a talk about monitoring photosynthesis from cell to the planet. He also visited UC Berkeley where he met Dennis Baldocchi, Trevor Keenan, Carlos Wang, and had a dinner at Joe Berry's home with Sungchan. Very short but intensive, fruitful trip!
Qidi Shu from Hong Kong Polytech finished the half-year visit to our lab. We had farewell parties for him. We hope our friendship could go lifelong~
Yeji Kim, our former member, visited SNU and gave a seminar about how to enter the great companies!
Our crews visited some forest sites to validate tall tree heights. Very challenging to bring TLS and scan the trees >45 degree slopes!

Spent way too long on Poki last weekend — started with one puzzle game and ended up trying like five different ones. Everything loads right in the browser which is nice when you just want something quick without installing anything. The variety is honestly what keeps me coming back.
The TLS scanning on those >45 degree slopes sounds brutal — hauling equipment up that kind of terrain for tall tree validation is no joke. I've done some fieldwork before and the data collection is always the easy part compared to just getting there. Speaking of rough conditions, sometimes when the field photos come back looking grainy or washed out, I just lean into it and use a low quality image tool to make them look intentionally gritty for presentations. Anyway, sounds like a genuinely productive start to 2026 with all those visits and collaborations.
